Terms of Service for Next Day

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using the Next Day app, its optional cloud backup service, or this website (together, "Next Day"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Next Day.

2. What Next Day is

Next Day is a daily activity planner for Android, Linux, and Windows, developed and maintained as a hobby project without commercial intent. It lets you plan a day's activities, receive notifications when they start, and optionally back up your data or mirror events from your Google Calendar.

3. Using the app

Next Day is provided free of charge for personal use. The app is local-first: your plans belong to you and are stored on your device. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of data you care about.

4. Cloud backup service (optional)

• Access requires an invite code and is granted at our discretion.
• Backups are end-to-end encrypted on your device before upload. If you lose your passphrase, we cannot recover your data.
• Up to 5 backup snapshots are retained per account; older ones are deleted automatically.
• We may suspend or delete accounts that abuse the service, for example through excessive automated uploads or attempts to disrupt it.
• The service comes with no uptime guarantee and may be changed or discontinued at any time.

5. Google Calendar sync (optional)

You may connect your Google account to mirror calendar events into your plan. This access is read-only and can be revoked at any time in the app's settings or from your Google Account permissions. Our handling of Google user data is described in the privacy policy. Your use of Google Calendar itself remains subject to Google's own terms.

6. No warranty

Next Day is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, reliability of notifications, or availability of the backup service. There is no guarantee of continued maintenance, support, or the existence of the project itself.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the creators of Next Day are not liable for any damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) Next Day, including missed notifications or appointments, data loss or corruption, or damages caused by security vulnerabilities. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Next Day, which is zero.

8. Termination

You may stop using Next Day at any time. You can request deletion of your cloud backup account by contacting us. We may terminate or suspend access to the cloud backup service if these terms are violated.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
